Jeffrey Booker is out as a member of the Benton Harbor Area Schools board. Booker resigned this week, and released a letter to the news media late Thursday afternoon. He is stepping down at the request of his employer, Lake Michigan College. Booker says he was told working for the college and serving on the school board may represent a conflict of interest. He calls in an honor and priveledge to have served on the school board for the past year and a half. The resignation was effective on October 16.
