Bloomingdale Township Couple Scammed

Scammer's are hitting Southwest Michigan, yet again. The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department reports a Bloomingdale Township couple is out $800 after scammer's convinced them they won nearly $2,000. A package was sent to the couples home, they were instructed to confirm they received the package via text message. The couple was provided a check for $1,979, and told to cash the check and send back all but $150, which they could keep for taking a survey. The victims only had $800 in their bank account, so they sent all eight hundred. The check they used was fraudulent, they now have an empty account. The Sheriff's Department urges you to use caution when receiving a notification of winning money.
