A three-year-old boy is recovering after being found trapped in a car window without a pulse late Friday afternoon. Benton Township police say the child had gotten stuck in the window, which officers say was defective and would not roll down. He was able to be revived, and then rushed to Lakeland Hospital. The little boy was then transfered to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo once he was stablized in St. Joseph. Police say Officer Steve Morrow was close by when the 9-1-1 call came in, and responded within a minute, breaking the window to get the child free. The boy had somehow gotten into the front passenger seat and police speculate he might have put his hand on the controls for the window to raise it up, trapping his head and neck.
