Benton Harbor RTAB Schedules First Meeting

Benton Harbor's Receivership Transition Advisory Board is set to hold its first meeting. It'll take place next Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Commission Chambers at City Hall. Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski is on the four-person board.

The governor appointed the board last month to oversee financial decisions made by the city, as it begins its second month of local control. The three others members are Cary Vaughn, Audit Manager at the Michigan Department of Treasury, Sharon Hunt, former human resources manager at Whirlpool Corporation, and Marvin Raglon a retired manager also from Whirlpool. Governor Snyder says the four-person board will ensure a "smooth transition and guide the city to continued financial stability." Back on March 10 Snyder made the announcement that Benton Harbor was returning to local control after nearly four-years under an emergency manager.
