Benton Harbor Curfew Crackdown Nets 13 Arrests

A crackdown on kids being out after curfew resulted in 13 being arrested in Benton Harbor Wednesday night, with the parents also ticketed. Benton Harbor Public Safety Director Roger Lange says the kids were turned over to their parents after being rounded up. One underage male was also sent into the juvenile court system after allegedly being caught with marijuana, and he will be charged with drug possession. Two others, 17-year-old Nicole Osler and 19-year-old Vanika Leech, were also arrested. Osler was taken into custody on an outstanding marijuana possession warrant, while Leech was arrested for disorderly conduct. Director Lange says the curfew crackdown was prompted by a slew of complaints about juveniles causing problems ranging from property destruction to fighting in the past few weeks.
