The Benton Harbor City Commission will hold a press conference Monday at City Hall. It's been scheduled for 5 p.m., but an email from Commissioner Trenton Bowens does not specify what they will be discussing. Emergency financial manager Joseph Harris announced four options he's considering to save the city money on Monday after voters rejected a pair of property tax millage renewal requests. Among those options are chapter 9 bankruptcy and eliminating the city's police department, turning law enforcement over to the Berrien County Sheriff's Department. Harris will be holding public hearings in the comiing weeks to hear from residents on the direction they want him to take with police.
