Benton Harbor Area Schools is hoping to become a breeding ground for young radio talent. At Tuesday night's committee meeting, Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood discussed the possibility of the school board overseeing the content of the recently acquired radio station from Benton Harbor.
Seawood says the radio station will be a part of media classes to train students to be announcers for school sporting events. These classes will also allow students to get college credit for media courses. Back in March, the district bought the radio station from the city for $5,000, a vote on overseeing the content will happen on a later date.
