Annual List Of Most-Stolen Vehicles Released

The most popular car for thieves to steal in Michigan is the 2000 Dodge Caravan. The Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority is out with its list of the top stolen vehicles in the state and nationally for 2012, finding Mondays are the favorite days for theives, with August having the most thefts. All of the top 10 stolen cars in Michigan were made by Chrysler, Ford or General Motors, while the national top ten has just four domestic models. The ATPA notes auto thefts fell in the state by 6.8% from 2010 to 2011 and fell just .03% of a percent from 2011 to 2012. Auto thefts have dropped over 65% since the organization was founded in 1986.
