29 Arrests Made In 'Operation Clean Sweep'



To tidy up Benton Harbor of outstanding warrants, the Department of Public Safety has made a city-wide sweep. This week with the help of the Berrien County Sheriff's Department, the Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Department of Corrections, 29 arrest were made of wanted felons with outstanding arrest warrants. In total, arrest teams made contact with 74 residences throughout the area. Deputy Director of Police Services Dan McGinnis says this is more than just keeping the city safe.

McGinnis says his department pulled records from as far back as the year 2000. He says more sweeps of this nature will occur in the spring and summer, with possible greater number of arrest.
