Walking tours around St. Joseph will once again be offered this summer by the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center. Heritage Museum Curator Tracy Gierada tells WSJM News this year’s program will feature sculpture tours and history tours.
“The historic walking tour takes place along Lake Bluff Park,” Gierada said. “We look at the architecture, the memorials, some of the views that we can see down toward the riverfront and lakefront and the beach. We end up taking a turn into the old historic St. Joseph neighborhood for the last part of the tour.”
The sculpture tours will take participants to art that’s set up along the river with an expert who can discuss each piece. The sculpture tours and history tours will alternate each week all summer. The tours will all be on Thursdays starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Whitcomb. Gierada suggests those who take part make a $5 donation to the Heritage Museum. Anyone who wants to take part can just show up. You can see the schedule below.
