$1.2 Million In Federal Funding Going To Niles Housing Development

$1.2 million in federal credits will be going to a low-income housing development in Niles. This week, Congressman Fred Upton announced the Low Income Housing Tax Credit for the Four Flags Plaza Apartments in Niles. He spoke with WSJM News about it.

“We’re glad to see that we’re getting a little bit of our fair share back, and it’s going to help people in need, something I support,” Upton said.

Two other southwest Michigan developments are getting the Low Income Housing Tax Credits from HUD. $1.4 million was announced for Selinon Park in Portage, and $1.4 million was announced for the Village of Kalamazoo Apartments. Upton says the funding ensures communities rehabilitate and provide affordable places to live for struggling residents.
