Car Expert talks Winter Maintenance

Ice buildup on your windshield wiper is not only annoying, it can be dangerous. A possible solution would be winter wiper blades. Jonathon Woodhams of Woodhams Ford-Lincoln in South Haven told WSJM News how winter blades are different.

“Winter wiper blades tend to be wrapped in a rubber boot so that the ice doesn’t get down into the little pivots on them, and they will stick to the windshield better,” Woodhams said.

Woodhams says to make sure you use winter washer fluid as well.

“We tend to use a little more solvent in the mixture so that it’s good down to the lower temperatures,” Woodhamds said.

Always carry a snow brush and ice scraper. You can be ticketed if your vehicle isn’t cleaned off.
