The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Thursday morning. It happened about 6:45 a.m. on Coloma Road near Bessemer Road in Hagar Township. Sheriff’s deputies say 52-year-old Alan Hattan of Watervliet was riding a motorcycle west on Coloma Road when a Ford Edge driven by 64-year-old John Smith of Coloma turned out in front of him. Police note there was dense fog at the time. Hattan was taken to Lakeland Hospital with serious injuries.
