If you’ve got a bunch of old pills sitting in your medicine cabinet, Michigan State Police are offering you a way to do some spring cleaning this weekend. Just stop by any post and drop off unwanted medications, no questions asked. The MSP’s Lori Dougovito tells WSJM News they team up with the DEA a couple times a year for takebacks.

“Last October during the same initiative, we collected more than 871 pounds of prescription drugs, and that was statewide,” Dougovito said.

The Paw Paw and Niles Michigan State Police posts will both take your drugs this Saturday. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The DEA will then dispose of the pills in a way that won’t harm the environment or any people.
