A women’s march is planned for this week in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. Angie Seger, with the Whirlpool Women’s Network, tells WSJM News they’re doing it to salute exceptional women and to raise awareness of women’s issues. The march leaves Plank’s Tavern in St. Joe Wednesday at 5 p.m.

“We want to remind people to wear red,” Seger said. “We’ll take off from Plank’s. It’ll wind through part of the downtown area of Benton Harbor, across the Blossomtime Bridge into downtown St. Joe, and then across the M-63 bridge and back to Plank’s.”

They’ll also have a happy hour at Plank’s starting at 4:30 and running through 6:30. Everyone is invited and the march is free. They will take donations for 100 Women Strong, an organization that gives one-time help to women in need.
