Big Plans For Development In Downtown Bridgman

There’s a big new development on the way for downtown Bridgman. The vacant buildings on the south side of Red Arrow Highway at Lake Street downtown will soon be the site of the Monogram Centre, a residential and commercial development planned by Marty and Chris Mason. Chris tells WSJM News his dad bought the property because he wants to see activity there.

“He had been driving by that corner for multiple years, and it’s always been sort of run down and vacant, so he was like, ‘Why not go for it?'”

The plan is for the ground floor to have restaurant and retail space. Mason says a wine bar would also be great. The top floor will have apartments and short-term rentals. Bridgman City Manager Juan Ganum tells us the location is in need of a shot in the arm.

“A lot of people have referred to that as the pivot point in Bridgman because it’s where Lake and Red Arrow meet.”

Crews are now gutting the buildings for the project. The Masons are hoping the increasing number of breweries in the area will mean big business for the Monogram Centre, with Chris telling us a wine bar would be great for the location. The goal is for the project to be done next year.
