Drug Drop-Off Day Today

pills-2

If you have a bunch of old, unneeded medications sitting around in your medicine cabinet, the DEA is giving you a chance to get rid of them today. Michigan State Police Lieutenant Mike Dawson tells WSJM News the posts in Niles and Paw Paw will be drop off sites. All you do is show up, and they’ll take pills, no questions asked.

“We do not want them in the pill bottles because you have your personal information on the pill bottles,” Dawson said. “We would just like you to bring them in in a bag. They go right in the basket. We don’t for any names or anything.”

They won’t take liquid medicines or syringes. The drug takeback today runs from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Dawson also notes there are several police stations in southwest Michigan where medications can be dropped off anytime. You can see the list of them below.
