A South Haven area iguana is safe after being rescued from a tree by firefighters on Tuesday. Police were called in the afternoon hours to a home near South Haven Place and Bailey Avenue on a report of a lizard at large. When they got there, Harold the iguana ran up a tree. Firefighters then brought in a ladder truck, and managed to snatch the two-foot lizard. In the meantime, Harold’s owner showed up and told officers he’d been missing about a month. It seems he got out of his cage when the door wasn’t closed all of the way. Harold, who appeared to be healthy, was reunited with the owner. Police aren’t sure just what he’d been up to during his month on the lam.
