Three people are dead following a shooting at the Berrien County Courthouse Monday. Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey says it happened shortly after 2 p.m.
“A person has shot two bailiffs,” Bailey said. “They’re both deceased, and shot a deputy sheriff who’s act the hospital right now being treated. The suspect has been shot and killed.”
Bailey says two others, a civilian and a sheriff’s deputy, are in the hospital in stable condition. The situation caused the courthouse to be evacuated, while police searched the building room by room. Bailey says the incident remains under investigation, and he’ll have further information as it becomes available.
