One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash near Berrien Springs on Monday. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says it happened on US-31 near M-139 shortly before 2 p.m. A northbound Chevy Avalanche crossed over the median, striking a southbound Ford van, nearly head-on. The driver of the van was killed, while the extent of the Avalanche driver’s injuries was not released. That person was taken to Lakeland Hospital. The crash remains under investigation, and the names of the drivers have not been released.
