The Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid is returning to Harbor Shores, but under a new name. On Wednesday, Chairman and CEO of Whirlpool Corporation, Jeff Fettig, announced that Whirlpool and KitchenAid have been elevated to title sponsor. Starting next year, and until 2024, the tournament will be titled the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. In addition, it was announced that the tournament will return to Harbor Shores in 2020, 2022, and 2024. The tournament was already set to return in 2018. Community leaders and over a hundred volunteers were in attendance for the announcement. Benton Harbor Mayor Marcus Muhammad says it’s an excellent way for the city of Benton Harbor to get exposure.

“When you think of great events, you always have to associate them with great cities,” Muhammad told WSJM News. “When you have the Senior PGA, you have the city of Benton Harbor.”

Jeff Noel, President of the Harbor Shores Development, says that by continuing to host the tournament, the community will continue to benefit from it.

“Two million people are exposed to this community every year through the media and live coverage,” Noel said. “We’re going to have that every other year through 2024.”

The 77th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid will continue through Sunday.
