No immediate expansion is planned by Meijer into Minnesota, but the retailer is confirming the purchase of 30 acres of land in a suburb of Minneapolis. Meijer currently operates in six Midwestern states. The “Grand Rapids Press” reports a spokesman for the Walker-based company says there are no plans in the works right now for the property. Meijer is currently focused on expanding in Wisconsin, where 16 supercenters will be opened over the next three years. The retailer opened its first stores in Wisconsin last year, and is planning to remodel several stores in Michigan this year.
