The Michigan Department of Transportation is reporting several more vehicle accidents on I-94 and I-196 in Berrien and Van Buren Counties. At one point early this morning, all lanes were blocked on I-94 East after I-196 Exit 34 for over an hour due to a crash. Similar crashes have blocked single lanes on the Interstate, with clean up of each incident taking at least an hour. I-94 in Van Buren County was shut down for several hours Friday after two multi-vehicle accidents, the first of which involved nine cars and four semis. One of the semis was hauling motor oil, and leaked 2,500 gallons of it onto the road. The second crash involved eight cars and six semis. Berrien County is currently under a Winter Weather Advisory until 4 p.m. Saturday. Allegan and Van Buren Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning until 4 p.m. Saturday. Drivers are encouraged to be especially cautious during these conditions.
