Mobile Meth Lab Busted Outside Watervliet High School

A 49-year-old Portage man is behind bars in the Berrien County Jail after a traffic stop turned into a mobile meth lab bust. According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Roy Lee Pace was pulled over for having a headlight out Tuesday morning, and admitted to the deputy that he was currently making meth inside the car with a one-pot meth lab. A search of the car found finished meth in a gym bag that also had a small amount of marijuana. A Haz-mat team was called in to clean up the scene. Pace told the officer he was in the area for work and is facing up to seven charges, including a second offense for manufacturing meth in a school zone, as he was pulled over across the street from Watervliet High School.
