Pope Francis Raises Profile Of Holiday Giving

The holidays have always been a time of giving, and no one has raised the profile of giving more than Pope Francis. Dave Maluchnick, of the Michigan Catholic Conference, says the Pope’s message appears to be getting out to everyone.

“I think there’s a greater profile,” Maluchnick said. “I think there’s more of a focus on the need for people to integrate service into their lives in some way.”

The Saint Leo University Polling Institute says 61 percent of Americans planned to give more or the same to charities this year as last. Many are crediting the Pope for those polling results.
