The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is looking for the public’s help in determining exactly what happened in a shooting that occurred this week. It says officers were called to the 100 block of Hastings around 6:30 pm Monday on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found no victim, but learned later a 22 year old Benton Harbor man had checked into Lakeland Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police say the young man has been mostly uncooperative, and the investigation is ongoing. Benton Harbor Public Safety is being assisted by Michigan State Police and the Berrien County Sheriffs Department in the case.
