Crash Sends Man to Hospital

A 19-year-old man from Bloomingdale is hospitalized in Kalamazoo after hitting a tree with his vehicle late Saturday night in Van Buren County. Sheriff’s deputies say the teen was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle when he hit a tree on County Road 380 west of 44th Street. He had to be airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment, and his condition has not been released. According to investigators, no other vehicles were involved, and the driver was the only one in his vehicle. They have not yet determined what caused the crash.
