Leaders at Lake Michigan College say they’re confident their pick to be the new LMC President is a good one. On Tuesday, the board of trustees picked Doctor Jennifer Spielvogel, of Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, to replace Doctor Bob Harrison when he steps down at the end of the year. LMC Board President Mary Jo Tomasini says Spielvogel has the right vision to move the college into the future.

“The board has asked her to see us through the current expansion plans that we have,” Tomasini told WSJM. “There are quite a few great things that are going on at Lake Michigan College, and we needed a leader that would come in and see those projects to completion, and then move forward.”

Tomasini says Spielvogel has a passion for community college. She’ll be introduced to the staff starting in early January, when it’s hoped she can also start. As for Doctor Bob Harrison, Tomasini says he’s been a visionary who is leaving LMC with an excellent legacy. Pictured: Doctor Jennifer Spielvogel.
