A new president for Lake Michigan College has been selected. On Tuesday, the board of trustees unanimously voted in favor of Doctor Jennifer Spielvogel, who is currently the Vice President of Evidence and Inquiry at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. She replaces Doctor Bob Harrison, who steps down at the end of this year after having served as LMC President since 2009. Spielvogel has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, having worked at such institutions as Lewis University in Illinois, University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Michigan, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and Georgetown University in Washington DC. She also has worked for The Gallup Organization as a senior research director. LMC Board President Mary Jo Tomasini says, “Doctor Spielvogel stood for her vast experience, strong background in strategic leadership and data-driven approach to decision making.” If the negotiations go well, it’s hoped Spielvogel can start in January.
