The Coast Guard says it’s suspended its search for a man who police believe was swept into Lake Michigan Thursday as he walked on the pier in Saint Joseph. Authorities say the man went into the water with 24 year old Brandi Mannino, of Watervliet, whose body was found Friday along Tiscornia Beach. Police and the Coast Guard searched for the man most of the day Friday, but had to call off the effort Saturday because of weather conditions. They had planned to look again Monday, but instead told us the search is suspended until there are further developments. Meanwhile, a wake for Brandi Mannino will be held from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at Duffield and Pastrick Funeral Home in Watervliet, while a funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, also in Watervliet. Meanwhile, an autopsy has confirmed the cause of Mannino’s death was drowning.
