It was supposed to be kept a secret, but an all-caps post on Facebook by Benton Harbor High School Principal Reinaldo Tripplett announcing a segment on ABC’s “Good Morning America” this morning from the high school has blown the lid off that. Tripplett took to social media yesterday to encourage staff and students to wear orange and black and be on time for the 8 a.m. broadcast, which we’re told will honor the Tigers football team. Benton Harbor won five games in the regular season and notched another win in their first-ever playoff game over Dowagiac this fall under the direction of coach Elliot Uzelac. Uzelac came out of retirement to take over a program that hadn’t won a game in several years, and helped Benton Harbor rack up more wins this year than the previous eight seasons combined.
