Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy Using Entergy Grant To Help Black River Pres

A $57,000 grant from the Entergy Environmental Initiatives Fund is going to help with repairs to the Black River Preserve near South Haven. The land is owned by the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy, and executive director Peter Ter Louw tells WSJM News the money will be put toward making repairs that have hampered public access.

The Conservancy bought the property in 2011. Ter Louw says a lot of work has been done since then thanks to volunteers to spruce up the area, which includes a parking lot, three ravines, creeks, and what he calls a “really spectacular” natural area in western Geneva Township.
