Approval has been given to a Benton Harbor day care center to expand. Noah’s Ark Day Care is run out of owner Veronica Murphy’s basement at 1019 Pearl Street, and currently serves 26 kids. She says she wanted to construct a new facility next door to serve even more.

Murphy got approval from the city commission on Monday for a special land use permit to allow for the construction of a new 40 by 60 foot building. Murphy hopes to start building in the spring of next year.
