Snyder Recall Attempt Fails

Language for a petition to recall Governor Snyder for gross negligence leading to the Flint water crisis, was rejected by the Board of State Canvassers Friday. Detroit pastor Angelo Scott Brown submitted the language. He says the governor is culpable because Flint was under state emergency management when the decision to switch the city from the Detroit water system to the Flint River was made. The move is attributed for causing the problem.

A lawyer for the governor says the petition language is flawed because the decision to switch to the Flint River was made by the city council, not the governor, and didn’t happen in Snyder’s current term. The canvassers rejected the petition for being untimely and not factual.
