The next executive director of Saint Joseph Today has been picked, and its Whitney Behnke, of Dowagiac, who previously worked for Southwestern Michigan College as a marketing analyst. The Saint Joseph Today Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to hire her, and the 28 year old Behnke will begin in her new role Monday, training side by side with the outgoing Jill Stone. Behnke grew up in Coloma, and says that Saint Joe has always been a part of her life.
“I reached a place in my career where I really wanted a challenge,” Behnke said. “I wanted something new, and I wanted to give something back to the community that has really given me a lot, as far as memories go.”
Behnke says that shes excited to get to tell the story of Saint Joseph Today, and will be moving here from Dowagiac very soon. Saint Joe Today Board President Deb Sailor says that Behnke will be a great fit.
“We were really blown away by Whitney,” Sailor told WSJM. “She was super smart, poised, confident, really energetic, and passionate about wanting this job.”
Behnke was selected out of a field of 30 applicants. Sailor says she’ll miss Jill Stone, but she’s confident Whitney Behnke will be good for Saint Joseph Today moving forward .
