The Four Winds Casino is warning customers about a data breach at its properties in New Buffalo, Dowagiac, and Hartford. It says that, on October second, the casino got a report that a bank had noticed a pattern of unauthorized charges on its cards after those cards were used at Four Winds. The casino then opened an investigation, and found that someone had installed a program on its payment network that copied the data off of the magnetic strip on customers’ cards. That would include a customer’s name, card number, and expiration date. Four Winds says that it’s possible any card that was used at its properties between October of 2014 and October 21st of 2015 could have been copied. It advises customers to check with their banks and watch their credit report. Four Winds also says that it’s since implemented enhanced security measures to prevent more attacks. Anyone with concerns can call 877-835-0768.
