The Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department is investigating the attempted robbery of the Village Inn Motel on Old US 31 Monday evening. It says that shortly after eight pm, a suspect in a ski mask and hoodie rand the service bell at the motel, and flashed a knife at the clerk. The clerk immediately called 911, and the suspect took off on foot. Police are looking into whether the incident is related to armed robberies at the Cass Street Shoppe and Speedway gas station in town this month. No one was injured in Monday’s attempted robbery.
