The Benton Harbor Board of Education next week will consider a resolution to accept the resignation of outgoing Superintendent Doctor Leonard Seawood. At a work session Tuesday, Board President Sharon James said that some details about the district’s settlement with Seawood should come out then.

The board announced a tentative settlement with Seawood following a meeting Friday, which prompted the canceling of a public hearing with him that had been planned for Saturday. James said that she’s heard nothing from the public about the issue since, and there were no comments made by the public at Tuesday’s work session. Next week’s school board meeting will be Tuesday at the high school at six pm.
