More than 22 hundred people dialed in to a tele-townhall held by State Senator John Proos this week. Proos says that he holds the town halls via phone from time to time to get a sense of what southwest Michigan residents have on their minds and what they want leaders in Lansing to do.

Proos says that seniors who dialed in also wanted to know what the state can do to help them get computer training. During the tele-town hall, callers participated by submitting 837 responses to seven poll questions. When asked whether they would be willing to pay higher state taxes to fund government responsibilities, 71 percent said no.
