Woman Faces Charges In Niles Fast Food Robbery

The Berrien County Prosecutor’s office says that charges have been authorized against an Indiana woman for her role in the 2014 robbery of a Long John Silvers restaurant in Niles. It says that 27 year old Kavina Ward was supposed to be the getaway driver for Eddie Macon Jr. of Niles, when he robbed the business on May second of last year, getting killed by police in the process. They shot him as he fled the scene and pointed a gun in their direction. Berrien County Prosecutor Michael Sepic says that Ward drove Macon to the scene, dropping him off nearby, and talking with him about the surroundings. Ward was also a former employee of the Long John Silvers. At her arraignment last week, bond was set at 50 thousand dollars, and a preliminary exam scheduled for October sixth. Ward is charged with armed robbery.
