Suspect In Berrien County Chase Arraigned

A man arrested following a chase with Michigan State Police on I 94 in Berrien County last week has been arraigned. The prosecutor’s office says that 53 year old Eric Jackson, of Benton Harbor, faces charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer, fleeing and eluding, and unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle. He was arrested last Tuesday after he led police on a chase down eastbound 94 when they tried to pull him over near mile marker nine for an armed robbery in Michigan City. Jackson eventually stopped, and tried to run when his car became disabled near Stevensville, but a state police K9 was able to stop him. Jackson also had a warrant out in Indiana. Bond at Monday’s arraignment was set at 75 thousand dollars, and Jackson is due back in court for a preliminary exam on October 13th.
