This Tuesday is the Maytag Day of Dependability, when Whirlpool employees around the country go out to volunteer with local Boys and Girls Clubs. In Benton Harbor, over 30 volunteers will head to the youth and teen campus of the Boys and Girls Club. The Day of Dependability began in 2010, and since then, Maytag has donated over 5.5 million dollars to help young people most in need around the country. Also during that time, over 65 thousand Boys and Girls Club youths have been served by the program, and more than six thousand Whirlpool employees have taken part. Maytag says that the event is about giving Whirlpool employees an opportunity to contribute to the legacy of dependability, and the volunteers are asked to speak with the kids about what dependability means.
