GasBuddy Discusses Latest Pump Sticker Shock

Another jump in gas prices has sent prices around Berrien County to $2.45. GasBuddy’s Patrick DeHaan says the factors are the usual combination of higher crude oil prices and maintenance issues at refineries.

He says we will see $2 per gallon gasoline again, but not until later in the fall. DeHaan says another factor is market reaction to the Federal Reserve not raising interest rates. The jump is a regional issue, as GasBuddy spotters put the national average at $2.29 a gallon. Michigan’s average is $2.41 as of Thursday morning.
