The Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan has announced its next speaker series, and guests will include a technology pioneer, a Pulitzer Prize winning writer, and a former US Secretary of State. Katie White, spokesperson for the Economic Club, says the new series kicks off on October 20th with Steve Wozniak, the cofounder of Apple Computer. After that, they’ll have political columnist George Will, columnist and commentator Charles Krauthammer, author Doris Kearns Goodwin, historian David McCullough, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. She tells us that it truly is special that the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan can get so many big names to come to Benton Harbor.

White says that the Economic Club picks which speakers to invite based on member surveys and by looking at which guests in the past have been the most popular. In recent years, the Speaker Series has featured such names as George W Bush, Jay Leno, and Sarah Palin. It’s not too late to join the club to attend the speeches at Lake Michigan College, either. White says you can apply to join at TheEconClub.com .
