A 16 year old from Hartford is facing charges after police say he stole several guns during a home invasion. The Van Buren County Sheriffs Department says that deputies were called to a home in the 86 thousand block of 67th Street in Keeler Township on Thursday afternoon on a report of a break in. Missing were two pistols, two shotguns, two rifles, over 15 hundred rounds of ammunition, and some power tools. While deputies were investigating the scene, they heard several gunshots in the area, so they went to check it out. At a nearby home, they found the suspect still in possession of the stolen guns, testing them out. He also matched images they’d gotten from a video surveillance system at the home. The 16 year old was arrested and taken to the Allegan County Youth Detention Center. The case has been forwarded on to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s office for charges.
