Proos Reminds Residents Of Importance Of Food Pantries

State Senator John Proos is reminding southwest Michigan residents of the role that food pantries play in helping families struggle through a hard time. This week, he stopped by the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Niles to see the reserves they have, and also make a donation himself. The Niles pantry recently found itself so understocked that it couldn’t even serve one family, and Proos says that people should remember those services, and maybe give a little something to them.

This Sunday at 4 pm, the Niles Area Community Orchestra will be holding a concert at the Summit Church on West River Road. The concert is free, but they are asking for people to bring donations of nonperishable food for the Niles Salvation Army. Proos also notes that communities all over southwest Michigan have food pantries worthy of a donation. Below is a list of some of them.
