The housing market in southwest Michigan shows continued strength, as the month of July brought sales numbers that were on par with June, and above July of last year by about 18 percent. Gary Walter, with the Southwest Michigan Association of Realtors, says that while sales are brisk, the average sale price could stand to go up a bit.

Walter says that foreclosed homes made up only nine percent of the units sold in the month of July, continuing a downward trend for such houses. He notes that now is a good time to sell, as many homes on the market are getting multiple offers from interested buyers.
