A Hartford man is facing an arson charge after he was caught burning an ex girlfriend’s belongings. The Van Buren County Sheriffs Department says that it was called to a home in the 71 thousand block of 67th Street in Hartford Township around 10:30 at night on Saturday to a report of a man high on meth burning things. Responding deputies went to the home and found 38 year old Jose Louis Sifuentes out back, with a large fire going. In the fire were the remnants of a mattress and other items, and deputies learned they belonged to the ex girlfriend of Sifuentes. He started burning them after the two had a fight. The suspect was arrested on a charge of felony arson of real property and taken to the Van Buren County Jail.
