Most of downtown Benton Harbor is without power this morning due to an issue at a substation. Indiana Michigan Power tells us they’re working to find the cause and to switch the affected customers over to other circuits. They don’t yet have an estimate on when that work will be completed. The Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen is closed today because they have no power, and the summer programs at the Montessori Academy at Morton and Benton Harbor High School are cancelled for the day. In all, there are nearly 2,700 without electricity.
