A debate between the three candidates for mayor of Benton Harbor is being planned. The Twin Cities NAACP says that the debate with Mayor James Hightower, City Commissioner Marcus Muhammad, and the Reverend James Atterberry will be held at Lighthouse Ministries, at 275 Pipestone in Benton Harbor, next Tuesday starting at six PM. This debate is taking place ahead of the August fourth primary, in which the field of candidates will be whittled down to two for the general election in November. Benton Harbor residents are invited to submit questions by emailing them to NAACPTwinCities@gmail.com . The debate will be open to the public.
